Since the 24th of February, every Ukrainian person has been living in hell. It’s a different type of hell for each particular person, but it’s still hell for all. I’ve been really frustrated the last couple of days (and at times very angry), so today I want to express gratitude instead:
- to Joanne Sawicki, who welcomed me into her home last week and organised my talk with Planet Positive today - I really enjoyed the conversation today!
- to the Ukraine DAO team who came to support me at the above event - in particular, Cecilie and A.
- and to Matt from Texas - special thank you from my parents.
Today I transferred to mum another donation, which mostly came from Matt, and she messaged me saying she was in shock, because she’s never been in such a situation that called for someone to be helping her in this way.
She then sent me a photo of this letter she wrote to Matt, who’s been helping my parents and Ukraine DAO trucks on a regular basis.
“Hello!!!
Thank you very much to Matt from Texas for the considerable support of the Ukrainian logistics in the dire time of war. Wishing you strong health, peaceful sky and good news from Ukraine from the bottom of our hearts.
Slava Ukraini!!!
The Shevchenko family (Olena and Viktor)
Btw, their story got covered by El Independiente recently - you can use the Chrome browser to translate “UkraineDAO o cómo conseguir siete millones de dólares para tu país con 28 años”.
We’ll publish English and Ukrainian translations in the coming days.
I love your mom! I will write her back tonight. Slava Ukraini!
